Exams are over and I want some mindless action. Michael Bay seems like the perfect fit. Babes? Check. Explosions? Check. Gigantic transforming robots? Check. Gigantic transforming robots with big swords riding gigantic transforming dinosaur robots? You got yourself a movie. Here are my first impressions for Transformers: Age of Extinction.
"Autobots, transform and roll out!"
A Brief Overview
The events of the last film leave us humans feeling very scared of the transformers. We want them gone, or at least the U.S. government does. All transformers are on the run, even the Autobots. Mark Wahlberg finds an old junk of a truck, but little does he know that he's actually found the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime. He quickly tells us that there is a new enemy out there, and he's not talking about a human enemy.
My Thoughts
I really liked this movie. If you want some mindless action for the afternoon, head to the closest cinema and get yourself a ticket. It was nothing special, but I will say it was better than the last two films. Much like the previous films, Age of Extinction places the humans as the focus, rather than the supercool transforming alien robots. I'm not sure I totally agree with that since you have, you know, supercool transforming alien robots. The Transformers should totally be the focus. In the end, I can't really argue with the Dinobots. The trailers are only a small fraction of the fun and awesomeness of this blockbuster.
My Score: 3.5/5 Stars
As you should know by now I'm a big fan of mindless action, so this movie was perfect for me. The only problem was that it did go on for a while. The pacing could have been done much better, and more awesome Transformers and alien aspects could have been fleshed out. However, I did enjoy it enough to want to watch it again. I need more Dinobots in my life!
What about you? Did you like this film? Are you tired of Michael Bay? Who is your favourite Transformer? Let me know in the comments!
P.s. I'm sorry about the shoddy content, but it's been a while and I need to get back on my feet. First world problems...
