I think I know it all, but I'd like to run that by you.
I believe that there is a truth to everything and there is the right answer to every problem. I love seeking the truth and understanding how people think. I want to share my stories in hopes that others will find them entertaining, useful, or insightful.
I'll be posting content like philosophical discussions, how-to's, nerdy opinions, and the occasional film review. In all seriousness, there's no set theme for this blog so if you like to spin the wheel then stick around. If there's one thing you want to take from this blog then listen to me now:
Expose yourself to new ideas, find the truth in them, then tell others so they can know it too! Think, Comment, Share.
Hello there, I'm Mark.
My name is Mark Huang. I'm a student at the University of Auckland studying biomedical science. What does a biomedical science person do? I haven't got a clue, but I guess that's why I'm still learning about it!
I was born in Malaysia, raised there till thirteen years of age, then moved over to New Zealand to finish high school and go to university. I hated primary school in Malaysia, and this eventuated in me being homeschooled for the remaining five years of life before New Zealand. In the Land of the Long White Cloud I was reintroduced to public schooling at Year 10, which is the second year of high school over here.
Overall, my academic life has been a success, what with being named Dux Litterarum of my high school and receiving a full paid scholarship for my university degree. However, you never know where life takes you.
Being a Malaysian I have an inherent love of food. One of my dreams is to travel the world on a food trip. I have a soft spot for Malaysian food, but I'm always ready to try something new. I'm also a musician and have a love for composing and playing the guitar. What's odd is that I don't really listen to music as a hobby, but I do enjoy the genres of electronic, folk, and alternative rock. For sporting activity I play Ultimate, or Ultimate Frisbee for the uninitiated. I'm not overly athletic but I always give it my all in every game. I enjoy captaining teams because I love looking at the bigger picture and strategies that make games great.
What's "H2OBOAR!"?
That's my DotA 2 gamer tag. My favourite hero is Sand King, but I play a multitude of heroes at varying levels of skill. My go to heroes at the moment are Techies and Phoenix. For the most part DotA 2 is the only game I play, but if I had more money to buy consoles I'd totally be into RPGs like Final Fantasy, Pokemon, or Portal. I have a small background in 3D animation and I even considered game design as a career path once in my life. If you stick around long enough you will probably see me post something nerdy about a game I'm playing or want to play.
